The Binswood Hall Leamington Spa Setting ★★★

Binswood Hall is one of the most beautiful buildings in Leamington, it’s a former Victorian-era school that has since been converted into a luxurious retirement home.

The atmosphere is very relaxed and the Gothic Hall’s modern decoration is charming, perfect for a relaxed afternoon. It’s also ideally located in Leamington, close to the centre and yet with plenty of parking spaces.

The Tea & Beverage Selection ★★★☆

The tea selection is quite poor and is made of Twinnings tea bags. There are only three proper teas to choose from : “Earl Grey”, “Afternoon Darjeeling” and “Delicate Green”. The others are fruit teas or infusions.

The tea is brewed properly and the staff is always available for refills. At this price range, I’d say that’s a good selection.

The afternoon tea is also served with a strawberry-mint fruit shake, very refreshing!

The Savouries ★★★

Four sandwiches, all of them quite tasty : “Ham”, “Cheese”, “Tuna” and “Egg & Mayonnaise”. The cheese sandwich was the best among the rest, tasty and generously filled.

The Scones ★★★

One scone per person, which is fine considering the tea is otherwise very generous. Served with strawberry preserve and clotted cream, nothing to report.

The Pastries ★★★★

There is a a very generous variety of pastries : “Victoria Sponge cake”, “Chocolate cake”, “Brownie”, “Pecan Pie”, “Cheesecake”, “Lemon tart”… The strawberries are also a very nice touch!

Quite tasty overall, especially the pecan pie and the cheesecake. I really appreciate the variety but some pastries, such as the chocolate cakes, are way too sweet.

The Service ★★★

The staff is friendly, efficient and serves you with a smile. No complaints, the whole team is highly professional!

Conclusion & Overall Mark ★★★

If you enjoy pastry oriented afternoon teas in a relaxed setting, do not hesitate to give Binswood Hall a try.

The venue is gorgeous, centrally located and the modernly decorated Victorian hall creates a unique ambience.
